I Could Not Put it Down

Rebecca’s Secrets – Wow! I loved this book! Once I started, I could not put it down. It is warm, funny and very real – a celebration of the strength of the human spirit. I found myself relating to much of the author’s childhood experiences despite the fact that my own background was completely different.

This is the story of a brave little boy with the world on his shoulders and many opportunities to explore it. It has humour, mystery, tension and tragedy but most of all it is a truthful insight into the mind of a clever and spiritied young boy.

As Tommy struggles to make sense of his family history, with its array of colourful characters, little pieces of his secret past emerge and he is compelled to find out more, to find where he belongs in the story and to determine what it all means to him.

The insight into the innocent and sometimes comlpex feelings of a child was fascinating. The story of the beautiful boy with the world on his shoulders was full of soul and made me reflect on life and how we make sense of it.

This novel is full of soul and evokes the reader to reflect and think about how we make sense of the world and the relationships we make, on our life’s journey. It is warm, funny, very real and a celebration of the strength of the human spirit.

I really recommend you get this book but be prepared to lose a whole weekend, as once you start reading you will not want to put in down….
